Is this medical care or a replacement for my surgeon’s advice?
No. This service does not replace medical care or your surgical team’s guidance.
I work alongside your doctors to support the mental, emotional, and practical preparation that is often overlooked—but plays a major role in healing and recovery.
When should I start working with you?
Ideally before surgery, as early as possible. Some begin weeks to months ahead. That said, support can still be helpful closer to surgery or during early recovery. If you’re feeling anxious or unsure, that’s often the best time to start.
What if I’m scared or unsure about surgery?
That’s more common than you think — and it’s okay.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. This is a safe space to talk through fears, questions, and concerns without pressure or judgment.
I’ve already scheduled surgery — am I too late?
Not at all.
Even small changes in preparation can make a meaningful difference in how you experience surgery and recovery. Many clients come to me after their surgery date is already set.
How is this different from physical therapy?
Physical therapy focuses on physical rehabilitation, after surgery.
My work focuses on preparation, mindset, emotional support, and practical readiness before surgery and through early recovery.
They work beautifully together.
I’m not very “into” mind-body work. Will this still help me?
Yes. Everything we do is practical, grounded, and tailored to you.
There’s no pressure to believe or do anything that doesn’t feel right. The goal is to reduce stress, improve coping, and help your body recover more efficiently — using tools that make sense for you.
Will this help reduce anxiety before surgery?
That is one of the most common reasons people seek support.
Clients often report feeling calmer, more confident, and better prepared going into surgery.
Reducing anxiety isn’t just about feeling better — it can positively impact recovery.
Do you work with caregivers or family members?
Yes. Support for caregivers can be incredibly helpful, especially when preparing for recovery at home. We can include guidance on communication, expectations, and practical planning.
How do sessions work?
Sessions are typically one-on-one and tailored to your timeline and needs.
We focus on preparation before surgery and support during early recovery and beyond.
Details and scheduling are discussed during your free consultation.
Is this covered by insurance?
This service is typically self-pay and not billed through insurance.
I’m happy to discuss fees and options transparently during our consultation.
Have you personally had surgery?
Yes. I’ve had a hip replacement.
I understand firsthand the fear, uncertainty, and vulnerability that can come with surgery — and the relief of being properly prepared.
This work comes from both lived experience and professional training.
Are virtual sessions available?
Sessions are available by video or phone with options for concierge care and post-surgical support for a truly personalized experience.
